Ms Beata Guzik is the director of EU Public Affairs. During the last 5 years, she gained unique and professional experience as a member of the EU Regulatory Team of a full-service Belgian law firm. She was involved and has spoken at diverse conferences around Europe on social media, lotteries & social gaming, energy, Digital Single Market, food law and sharing economy. She has published on the topic of social media and social gaming in Public Gaming Magazine. She is a board member of Femmes Polonaises de Bruxelles ASBL and involved in various social projects amongst others on sharing economy.
Eventus International: Why is the International Lottery Play Summit important and why are you supporting this year’s event?
ILPS is important as a meeting place for all stakeholders. Moreover, the region where the Summit is organised plays an important role. Participants from all over the world with their unique experience of different backgrounds makes that conference very promising. Knowing the program I am sure that ILPS will be a very insightful conference in the gaming sector.
Eventus International: What do you look forward to gaining from the International Lottery Play Summit, Dubai in February
I hope to gain some interesting knowledge about different markets, especially from the region, but also to network, and get to know more about new technologies (like AI).
Eventus International: What do you see as the main challenges currently facing the lottery industry
Among others: fighting illegal operators, implementing modern technologies and adapting CSR to the shared values model by highlighting lotteries’ contribution to charities as well as to education, health, and even architecture.
Eventus International: How did you get into the sector?
I have been working in legal services for 10 years together with Philippe Vlaemminck who is a well-reputed lawyer with vast and very unique experience in lotteries sector.
During the last 10 years, I gained a unique and professional experience as a member of the EU Regulatory Team of a Belgian law firm.
I was involved and has spoken at diverse conferences around Europe on lotteries, social gaming, shared values approach to CSR, Digital Single Market, Circular Economy and sharing economy. I have published several articles related to lotteries, among others in the Public Gaming Magazine.
